Holiness - Be the Church

The Bible tells us to live holy and godly lives, and that there should be a distinction between our lives, and those of unbelievers. Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the pursuit of holiness and godliness, listing what it is and isn’t. Our goal should be for our thoughts, priorities, actions, and emotions to be pleasing to God. Pastor Allen provides specific ways to pursue godliness and holiness, including guarding our hearts and our emotions. As we make choices to be a light in this world, Christ will be made evident through us, wherever He sends us.

Holiness - When You are Out of Time

Though our time on earth is limited, eternity has no end. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson talks through the differences between time and eternity; and our carnal natures versus our spiritual beings. He discusses personal daily choices we can make to direct our lives away from temporary things, and towards our eternal God, including the importance of reading, believing, and following the Bible.

Holiness - God's Perspective

God’s perspective always exceeds our own. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses holiness in our lives as it relates to God’s perspective. He begins by listing components that make God’s world view different than ours: Nothing is hidden from God; His thoughts are not our thoughts; His Word provides illumination to our lives; He knows the future and told us to expect scoffers and deception in the last days. Pastor Allen examines Jesus’ response to the assaults and attacks that came from following God and encourages us to do likewise, providing ideas and to help us listen, see, and react to the world through our faith.

Holiness - Designed for It

At creation, there was no sickness, no disease, no impairments, and no sin. We were holy! Although God created us for holiness, cultivating it requires our participation. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson presents a series of statements regarding holiness, asking us to consider how we prioritize it in our lives. Holiness is not weakness, poverty, or passivity. Instead, the Bible shows a clear connection between pursuing holiness, and blessings and opportunity. Holiness is not an optional part of our faith; it's essential.
