Big Trouble Ahead - Vol. 3 • Sermon Series

Big Trouble Ahead - The Battle with Discouragement

God’s people are battling against discouragement—the loss of courage. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses three common reactions to our current culture. Christians are either pressed and distressed; unaware and unconcerned; or listening and obedient to God. He discusses the differences in these responses and encourages us to personally reflect on where we are, versus where we would like to be. He offers proactive steps we can take to move toward the Lord and refresh our courage, so we can be salt and light to our generation.

Big Trouble Ahead - The Choice of Barabbas

Pontius Pilate didn’t suspect Jesus had done anything worthy of execution, but he didn't have the courage to stand up for the truth—there was too much at stake. Pilate's wavering led to the execution of Jesus. Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the story, encouraging us to be unashamed, unmistakable, courageous, assertive advocates for Jesus. He offers ways to prepare ourselves spiritually, committing ourselves to prayer, reading the Bible, being obedient to God and His leading, and standing up for the Truth we know.

Big Trouble Ahead - Help Your Neighbors

People are tremendously valuable to God, and many need help finding their way to Him. The Bible tells us that once we know what we believe and why, our job is to help our neighbors into God's Kingdom. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson sheds light on this assignment. He discusses what Scripture directs us to do to help our neighbors, versus what the world tells us; the difference between compassion on others, versus cooperation with sin; and the importance of humility and mercy, versus self-righteousness and pride. The world needs a heart change, and it can begin with us.
